No Junk Food January
I am considering making New Years Eve the last day of sweets and the like for a month.
1) any ideas for guidelines?
2) would anyone like to join me?
I think it will be a great refresher after the sweets-filled holiday season and a perfect way to begin 2012.

Well, one of my old boyfriends is engaged.
Guess that means I am officially of the my-friends-are-getting-married age. Woo.
Struggling.
Christmas Day run: complete.
Loving the lower elevation in comparison to Colorado!
Now for Christmas ham and family. Hope you’ve all had a wonderful day if you are an observer of this holiday (and even if you’re not)!
Do take a minute to remember the reason for this season—indeed, Jesus was born, but he came for our redemption. Merry Christmas!

What advice do women always ask you for?
They get caught on plateaus. In that case what you need to do is give yourself a couple of days of rest and bump up your calories by 10 percent. When you lose weight quickly, your body often responds by releasing hormones to increase your appetite and store more fat. That's a survival instinct meant to help us conserve fuel during times of famine. You can outsmart it by eating a little more and resting. That usually helps jump-start your metabolism again.

I got this from the Team Beachbody website. It’s a great reminder why women should lift weights. It was written by Whitney Provost.
When you’re weight training, you shouldn’t rely exclusively on the scale to gauge your progress. You can use a body fat tester or a tape…

Am I the only one that is not a morning runner?
So many people go out for runs before class or work or whatever…whenever I do it, I seriously die. My best runs are at ten or eleven at night. Am I weird or is that normal?

So, here's the plan.
Christmas is a huge deal in my family. We fly all the way to New York to be with everyone, we meet new fiances and boyfriends and girlfriends, we catch up on the past year since we’ve all seen each other.
This, as you can imagine, involves a lot of food.
Good food. Warm, fresh-out-of-the-oven-Swedish-kringles food. Freshly made lasagna food. I get this kind of thing once a year.
